These are gold 😂 Stumbled across a colourful rainbow of an art installation @ginger_factory yesterday. Beautiful 🌈 Honestly, after receiving my #autism identity last year, I thought I’d uncovered it all… but… surprise! As of yesterday, I am officially an ADHDer too. I am a bundle of mixed emotions about this. I am relieved to FINALLY be able to get the help I have needed my whole life. I’m appalled that I’ve had to struggle every day of my life for decades because medicine has been so male gendered that half a population was left behind and is only now starting to get the help we’ve needed. I feel terribly privileged to be able to get this diagnosis, knowing that so many who need it cannot access it due to financial, cultural and social barriers. I am also bewildered that I have managed to get this far in life with multiple (hidden) disabilities. And I am so sad that ‘little Joey’ has been dragged through the trenches, beating herself up for not being able to do more, do it better, do all the things others can do, and keep up with my peers. Oh, little Joey, you poor love. I promise to do better by you now that I’m learning how to. 💗 So honoured to have been invited to record a session with @yellowladybugs_autism for their upcoming conference. Highly fabulous fellow panelists with @chloeshayden and @_kristyforbes and me being the new kid on the block. Hopefully I had something useful/inspiring to say in there somewhere ☺️ To learn more about the upcoming conference and grab your ticket, head to @yellowladybugs_autism for all the details 💗 Calling plant people…. My new indoor plant puts itself to bed at night (left) and then opens up during the day. I’ve never seen a plant do this before. It’s so cute! Is this usual behaviour? Feel like I’ve stumbled on an exotic, hyper intelligent life form 😆 Thank you so very much to everyone who voted for The Jam Queens in the @betterreadingau Top 100! I am thrilled to once again have a book in this incredible list and to have The Jam Queens hold a special spot on the BIG W walls for a whole year ahead. Congratulations to all other authors in this list too. ⭐️👏💗⭐️ The kids are listening. So are we. I took this photo! Not even joking…! Happy Easter to all my readers and supporters! Today I made Ukrainian Easter Paska (bread), the recipe for which I sent out in last month’s love letter to all subscribers. This sweet bread tastes (and smells!) delicious!
